The profession of an Interior Designer too has its own thrills and challenges to offer for the right taker. As with any other profession, it is the perception that makes all the difference. One may find one’s job very dull, very mechanical and matter-of-fact sort of thing, unless the lesson of “Involvement” is learnt in the right perspective. That is what Rahul Jadhav had come to understand during the very initial years of his career as a Designer. He says, “Frankly speaking, this insight alone has stood with me throughout and made my job look ever so interesting and enjoyable. I take every assignment as a challenge, involve myself fully in it and derive utmost pleasure and joy from my work”.
The instant assignment for Rahul came from a person who had certain dreams for his dwellings. His own ideas on what exactly he wanted for his house were not very clear or at least he could not convey it very clearly. All that could be gathered was that the interiors should present an impressive look and be something standing apart. He was ready to give a free hand to the Designers in selecting the material, designs, colour concepts, arrangements and literally everything, as long as the end product was going to come upto his expectations. Money in terms of costs was going to be no restraint from the client’s end, but that again was another aspect of Rahul’s perception of things. For Rahul, the client’s money was as precious as his own. “If the client bestows his faith in you and your capabilities, you owe it to him that the funds are used with utmost care, the material is selected very judiciously, and in short, every care is taken to avoid wastage of any kind”, says Rahul. Therefore, once the requirements and expectations of the client were clear, Rahul could visualize his plans on the project almost instantly.
